CAJAMARCA AND THE LAST INCA OF THE TAHUANTINSUYO
#Cajamarca the city that held the last battle of the Tahuantinsuyo still stands, as beautiful as ever, with a mixture pre-inca, Inca, spanish and modern architecture.
Located at 2750 meters above the sea level, Cajamarca has the historical remains of the capture and assasination of the last Inca Atahualpa in the year 1532 by the spanish invadors.
Before the murdering him in the name of "God" the spanish invadors accepted and collected a voluntary reward offered by Atahualpa himself. He agreed to give away a room fulled twice with silver and once with gold in exchange of his freedom. Then he proceeded to raise his hand and mark that hight as the amount that should be collected from all over the kingdom. The invadors took the treasure but still killed him after forcing him into christian baptism. The treasure was then sent to the european crowns.
Cajamarca is also home to a marvelous mountain forest filled with megalithic stone shapes and formations. It is still a city with a big gold digging bussiness and many touristic attractions as the "Inca baths" an ancient complex of thermal bathrooms that were once built for the inca himself.
